The legal reform in modern condition

Východoeurópska agentúra pre rozvoj n.o. pripravila v spolupráci s National Aviation University vedeckú konferenciu pod názvom “VI International Scientific Conference «The legal reform in modern condition: achievements and perspective »“, ktorá sa uskutočnila dňa 26. februára 2016 v meste Kyiv, Ukrajina.

February 26, 2016 in the Educational-scientific Institute of Law with the participation of leading domestic and foreign scientists, representatives of the legislative branch, international companies, managers and specialists from legal institutions, judges held the VI international scientific-practical conference «Legal reform in the modern context: achievements and prospects».

During the opening of the scientific event Director of Institute, doctor of law. Irina Sopilko noted that the choice of the theme of an International conference is, primarily, the need for professional discussion of issues related to legal reform in Ukraine, which covers three main areas: constitutional, legislative and judicial. The Director noted that today it is urgent to unite efforts of all – government, civil society and scientific elites to ensure that reforms were designed, progressive and coherent strategic vision, the understanding that we are building for Ukraine model of the legal system.

The major emphasis regarding the impact of the work of the conference were placed exposed: Vladimir Kharchenko – acting the rector of NAU, d.sc.n., Professor; Andrew Meisner – the first Vice-rector for administration, Oleksandr Kopylenko – Director of the Institute of legislation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, doctor of law., Professor, corresponding member. The national Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, NASU corresponding member, Joseph Zatko – Director of Eastern European development Agency, President of the European Institute of continuing education, the doctor of law, Professor, Kay Kanu – accredited representative for legal policy of the Embassy of the people’s Republic of China in Ukraine, Selim Guner – Chairman of the Board of Gunsel Group, Diner Saidi – Director of Turkish Airlines in Ukraine, Eric Liljegren – General Director and partner of the Swedish company «Tegra Consulting», Roman Melnyk, Director of the centre for German law at the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv national University Taras Shevchenko, doctor of law., Professor.

Conference participants with interest were heard on proposals for the reform of the judicial system, which was voiced by Vitaly Kuprij – people’s Deputy of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on legislative support of law enforcement Andrei Shinkevich – people’s Deputy of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on construction, urban development, housing and communal services, Sergey Petkova – Deputy Director of Center of advanced training and retraining of workers of Ministry of justice of Ukraine, doctor of law., Professor, Alexander ?rocuta – Director General of National joint stock company «Ukragroleasing», Mary Ordinskoy – patent attorney, Director of Patent law company IP Style.

Discussion was performance related to transparency in reforming the judicial system, namely: Dmitry Golosnichenko – Professor of the Department of commercial and administrative law of the faculty of sociology and law, National technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute», doctor of law., Andriy Matviychuk – Dean of the faculty of International Economics and Humanities University named by academician Stepan Demyanchuk, candidate of philosophy, associate Professor, Nicholas Zverina – chief research officer, State research Institute MIA of Ukraine, candidate of law., Boris Shapovalov – President of the police center of martial arts «Law and order» candidate of psychological Sciences, associate Professor. Equally insightful and informative were the reports concerning the prospects for the implementation of municipal reform.

In General, the Conference was attended by 348 scientists from 22 countries, 20 regions of Ukraine, 71 higher education institutions and 43 organizations and institutions.
